Which test standard applies to your product
EN 71, REACH, LFGB or FDA — the right standard depends on how the item is used and where it is going. Here is how we sort it.

Which test standard applies to what — EN 71, REACH, LFGB and FDA — and which factory-level documents a supplier onboarding actually asks for.
Which test standard applies is decided by how the item is used and where it is going — not by which category it sits in. Two products side by side on the same shelf can fall under different rules.
In practice: EN 71 for items a child can reasonably handle, REACH for chemical content, LFGB with EU 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 for anything touching food, and FDA 21 CFR for the US market. Food-contact paper tableware is where buyers most often get this wrong — a paper plate is a food-contact item, a hanging ornament is not.
At factory level we hold BSCI, ISO 9001, FSC and SEDEX. Test reports are issued per SKU, so ask for the report that covers the item you are buying rather than a generic certificate.
